Kristi Kruse holds a DMA and MM in piano performance from the University of Minnesota where she completed her thesis "Reframing Performance Anxiety:  The Theory and Practice of Peak Performing."  She is currently an adjunct music instructor at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota, as well as  a faculty member of St. Joseph's School of Music.  In addition to teaching, she is an active composer and arranger partly inspired by jazz study with Laura Caviani.

 What others are saying:

Kristi is not only a gifted composer, but she has also been an exceptional coach, mentor, and cheerleader during my journey to play the piano again after many, many years.  Collaboratively, we selected several pieces to inspire and challenge me while setting realistic, achievable goals.  Kristi is very understanding of adult students and always provided additional strategies to optimize my practice time, improve my form and technique, and to overcome any bad habits.  She celebrates my victories with me, and then enthusiastically encourages me to take on my next challenge - even if I don't think I can do it yet!  I would not have achieved my goals without her insight and guidance.
